Laguna Om Biological Station

It is located in the Ejido Laguna Om Forest Area, Othón P. Blanco Municipality, Quintana Roo, Mexico. The forest area comprises 35,000 hectares and is one of the largest forest massifs south of Quintana Roo. Together with the Calakmul Biosphere Reserve, it is an important conservation area since, (i) It conserves as an intangible a unique sample of humid forests; (ii) Protect landscape beauties; (iii) It conserves cultural resources, the pre-hispanic archaeological complex of the Mayan culture, which is one of the most important sites of the Mayan culture in the Yucatan Peninsula, UNESCO granted it the appointment of Cultural Heritage of Humanity and (iv) it also promotes scientific research.

The Laguna Om Biological Station is at  the road, 5 km before reaching the town of Nuevo Becar, Quintana Roo.
