Colombian-Costa Rican scientist with extensive experience in conservation biology, applied ecology, macroecology and conservation planning in tropical landscapes. He is currently Scientific Director of ProCAT Colombia / International and Sierra to Sea Institute Foundation and is Co-Chair of the IUCN SSC Small Carnivore Specialist Group. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Latin American Conservation Journal, Small Carnivore Conservation and Mammalogy Notes, and has more than 150 publications including scientific articles, books and book chapters. He has been awarded internationally and chosen environmental character of the year in Colombia.
